It works by collating data from the people you already follow on Twitter and creating a new network of previously undiscovered friends for you to follow. It further takes geographic information from each user and compare it to your own, so at a glance you can see the distance of each user to yourself, facilitating the now difficult task of finding local people of similar interests on Twitter.
