| A cell phone alarm that actually WAKES YOU UP |
|
Whatever happened to keeping a clock radio next to the bed. Whether it has been a result of trying to cut back on electricity or declutter the bedroom, less and less people seem to keep that simple device that has for the past several decades encouraged millions of people to get to work on time. Is it surprising? Not really. Cell phones--smartphones especially--really are becoming capable of replacing more and more gadgets by the day. Everyday, people are canceling their landline phones because ultimately their cell phones are a suitable substitute. So it makes sense then that using the cell phone alarm clock has become the social norm.
Even though it can be easy enough to set the cell phone to "loud + annoying" such that it interrupts your sweet slumbers, they don't seem to stare you in the face like an old-school alarm clock and sometimes hitting snooze (or accidentally hitting the off button) can leave you sleeping away the day. This is why the developer Ageye has released the G-Alarm, an alarm that makes "snoozing" just a bit more complicated. You can see it on their website here . The alarm allows the user to set it to ask a small calculation task or guide a ball through a maze prior to turning it off. Beyond that, there are many options that make this alarm seem worth the $5 it'll run you. For one, you can turn on the talking clock and it will read you the time, or my favorite, the no-touch feature where (device permitting) you can shake the phone without pushing any buttons to deactivate the alarm.
