Respect

When you log on to our website, you are joining a community. Please respect the other members of that community. This only works if the competition, and all of its users, can trust that everyone will act responsibly; we ask you to respect that trust.

Boundaries

Our Terms of Use are rules that you must follow. If you don't, we will have to take action. But common sense helps too. Here are some thoughts that we think should be helpful:

Out of Hand is not for obscene, pornographic or sexually explicit content. If you have that in your video, even of yourself, please don't post it on Out of Hand.

Don't post gross, violent or really offensive things. So please don't send us nasty stuff like mutilation, dead bodies, gross accidents, people being attacked or humiliated, animal abuse, really violent stuff, illegal weapons – you get the picture.

We believe in free speech, and everyone's right to express his or her point of view no matter how unpopular it may be. But hate speech, and defamatory comments about any particular person, group, sexual orientation, age, color, race, religion, ethnic origin, nationality or disability, is just not acceptable.

Do not use the website for harassment, threats, predatory behavior, stalking, invasion of privacy or any illegal behavior or any kind. If we catch you doing this, we will kick you out of our community, and refer the matter for appropriate legal action.

Don't infringe someone else's copyright or other intellectual property rights. If you don't own or have the right to use all of the content in your video, don't post it on the website. This means either you made it yourself, or you have the right, given to you in writing, to use the content that someone else made. That includes anything in your video – photos, text, music, trademarks, little pieces of photos or videos made by others. If you film someone and include them in your video, make sure they have consented in writing to your use of their name, voice, image and/or likeness in your video. If you don't have that consent in writing, you cannot include that person in your video. Please read our Terms of Use for more information concerning intellectual property rights.

Community

Out of Hand website is a community. It will take its character from its users. So while we want you to throw yourself into it and become involved, remember that it is a shared community with many users. Give us feedback, tell us what you think – about the Website, about videos that people post, about comments that people post about videos. Feedback is helpful to people who post their videos on the Website – just do it with respect. If you find something on our website that you believe violates our Terms of Use or these Community Guidelines, let us know. Click the "Flagged for Review" button under the video you're watching, and we will review it to see whether it is appropriate for the Website. If you simply don't like it, but it is not inappropriate for the website – then just stop watching it and move on to something else. There should be plenty of content that you will enjoy watching.

Flagged for Review

When a video has been "Flagged for Review”, we will review it to see whether it violates our Terms of Use. If we remove your video, you should assume that we did not do it accidentally. Take a hard look at your video and at our Term of Use and these Community Guidelines, and think about why we removed it. We think there is plenty of room for you to express your creativity without running afoul of those rules.

A Final Note

Please don't try to get around the spirit of these Community Guidelines. We understand that not everyone has the same perspective on what is and is not appropriate. But please try to understand that communities only work when there are guidelines that people respect and follow. If we do feel that you have violated the Terms of Use, we may give you a warning notification, or we may immediately terminate your account and delete all of your videos. We decide this in our sole and absolute discretion. If we terminate your account, you will be prohibited from ever signing up again for the Website.
