Demand for content anywhere, anytime is outstanding
Published in Untagged by OOH
Demand for content anywhere, anytime is outstanding. And the context for this demand is ever shifting. In a mobile sense, the way in which a story is told, as well as how it is perceived, changes frequently. And as these contexts continually reposition, the opportunity exists for content to become more dynamic and personally relevant.
Two primary contexts, location and proximity, are compelling when creating, discovering and consuming content on-the-go. To be more specific, a sense of place, the direction of movement, and dynamic environmental conditions all bring new points of view that currently limit experiences anchored to desktop computer. The definition of content is evolving into more than just text, audio and video. Streams of individual identity combined with attributes including presence, location, mood, and activity create new meaning and elicit new types of interaction. We share responsibility as broadcasters and consumers all at once, all of the time. Finally, mobile devices are not merely for consuming mass media. They are live feedback mechanisms; tools for direct communication with one person, a group, or the entire world. One can engage in asynchronous, live communication in one moment and leave synchronous, permanent comments in the next. These multifaceted communication channels must be encouraged as part of the ongoing story. Thanks! Brandon is a Senior Design Analyst at Frog Design in Shanghai.
